16 Dead, 38 Injured in Pakistan Rain and Flood Incidents

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported that at least 16 people lost their lives and 38 others were injured across Pakistan in rain- and flood-related incidents during the week from June 26 to July 2. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emerged as the worst-hit province, recording nine deaths and 26 injuries.

Casualties by Province

According to the NDMA situation report, the casualties resulted from heavy monsoon rains, collapsing houses, and flash floods. Among the 16 deceased were five men, four women, and seven children. The injured included 14 men, four women, and 20 children. House collapses and flash floods were identified as the leading causes of death.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, nine people died and 26 were injured. Punjab reported four fatalities and nine injuries, with the deceased comprising one man, one woman, and two children, and the injured including three men, one woman, and five children. Balochistan recorded three deaths—two women and one child—and three injuries.

No Casualties in Other Regions

The NDMA report stated that no deaths or injuries were reported from Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, or Islamabad during the reporting period. The authority continues to monitor the evolving weather situation as monsoon rains persist across different parts of the country.
