Police in Changa Manga have uncovered a robbery hoax involving Rs200 million, exposing an alleged plot by a jeweller to misappropriate customers' money and gold. According to police officials, the complainant, Akram Zargar, a resident of Chunian, contacted the emergency helpline on Friday, claiming that two unidentified motorcyclists had robbed him of Rs25,000 and 206 grams of gold worth approximately Rs200 million.
Investigation Reveals Fabricated Incident
When police arrived at the scene, the complainant created a commotion and pretended to suffer a heart attack. He was immediately shifted to a hospital for medical attention, while the investigation continued. However, investigators soon found inconsistencies in his story. Through thorough questioning and evidence gathering, they discovered that the entire incident was a planned hoax orchestrated by Zargar, his son Imran, and his brother-in-law.
Details of the Conspiracy
The police revealed that Zargar had conspired with his family members to stage the robbery in order to misappropriate customers' gold and money entrusted to him. The trio had allegedly planned to report the fake robbery to cover up their financial misdeeds. The police have registered a case against the three suspects and are conducting further investigations to recover the misappropriated assets.
Impact and Legal Action
The hoax has caused significant concern among Zargar's customers, who now fear for the safety of their valuables. Police have assured the public that strict legal action will be taken against the perpetrators. The suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the fraud.
