PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday expressed deep concern over the prevailing political situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and announced that he would take the matter up with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He emphasized that the issue should be resolved through dialogue within the framework of the assembly, stressing that political matters must be settled through consultation rather than confrontation.
Parliamentary Meeting of PPP AJK Chapter
A parliamentary meeting of the PPP AJK chapter was held at the Presidency under the chairmanship of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The session was also attended by PPP AJK political affairs in-charge and PPP Women's Wing Central President Faryal Talpur. During the meeting, the current political situation in Azad Kashmir was reviewed in detail, with members of the parliamentary party engaging in consultations with the party leadership.

PPP AJK parliamentary members briefed Bilawal and Faryal Talpur on the evolving situation and presented their recommendations. The leadership listened to the suggestions and took note of the concerns raised by the participants. Bilawal reiterated that the PPP was founded on the Kashmir cause and has consistently prioritized the resolution of issues faced by the Kashmiri people. He stressed that political matters should be settled through dialogue.
Minister Rejects Claims of Unimplemented Agreement
Meanwhile, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry rejected claims that the October 3, 2025, agreement with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) had largely remained unimplemented. Addressing a news conference, Chaudhry said the government had fulfilled the vast majority of its commitments in AJK. He added that the government had repeatedly sought to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue but regretted that false and negative propaganda was being spread regarding the implementation status of the agreement. The minister said four options had been proposed, including discussing the matter through an all-parties conference.
