The District Coordination Committee (DCC) held its monthly meeting at Attock with Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza in the chair. The forum reviewed law and order, traffic management, and multiple public service campaigns across the district.
Meeting Attendees
District Police Officer (DPO) Attock Sardar Mawarhan Khan, officers of law enforcement agencies, Assistant Commissioners, heads of district departments, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
Review of Violations and Operations
The committee conducted a detailed review of traffic violations, encroachments, electricity theft, illegal fuel and LPG operations, seminary registration, anti-begging drives, repatriation of illegal foreigners, and complaint redressal for overseas Pakistanis.
Traffic Enforcement
According to the briefing, the district administration maintained strict enforcement in May 2026. Traffic police issued 6,203 challans for rule violations and collected fines exceeding Rs. 11.7 million.
Illegal Fuel and LPG Operations
In a crackdown on illegal fuel sales, 31 unauthorized petrol stations were sealed and Rs. 302,500 in penalties was recovered. Operations against illegal LPG decanting led to 53 violations being reported, 64 points sealed, 7 FIRs registered, and Rs. 153,000 in fines imposed.
Anti-Encroachment Campaign
The anti-encroachment campaign cleared 15 permanent and 915 temporary encroachments from public spaces, with Rs. 420,000 collected in fines.
Electricity Theft
In operations against power theft, authorities detected 19 illegal connections, registered 12 cases, arrested 10 individuals, and recovered Rs. 1.08 million.
Security Measures
On security, police checked 14,212 suspicious vehicles at entry and exit points of major highways during the month. The checks resulted in the arrest of 9 suspects and registration of 8 cases. Surveillance of sensitive locations was directed to be strengthened further.
Seminary Registration Status
The meeting also reviewed the status of seminary registration. Officials informed the forum that Attock district has 493 seminaries, of which 199 are registered and geo-tagging of 28 has been completed. The DC instructed relevant departments to accelerate the registration process of remaining institutions to ensure compliance with provincial policy.
Anti-Begging Campaign
Under the anti-begging campaign, six special teams took 20 professional beggars into custody during targeted operations.
Overseas Pakistanis Complaints
For overseas Pakistanis, the administration resolved 336 out of 393 complaints received on the official dashboard, with remaining cases under process.
Repatriation of Illegal Foreigners
Regarding repatriation, the district has so far repatriated 30,394 illegal foreigners in various phases. Currently, 40 individuals remain at the holding center awaiting transfer.
Deputy Commissioner's Address
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza said that, in line with Punjab government instructions, immediate resolution of public complaints, maintenance of law and order, and strict enforcement of law must be ensured. He directed all departments to improve inter-departmental coordination and continue practical steps to enhance the quality of public services.
DPO's Assurance
DPO Sardar Mavarhan Khan assured the forum that police and other law enforcement agencies are performing duties diligently to prevent crime and protect citizens' lives and property.
