At least five people were killed and two others sustained injuries in a deadly armed clash between two rival families over a long-standing land dispute in the Gul Kach area of Toi Khullah Tehsil, Lower South Waziristan, according to local and police sources on Saturday.
Background of the Dispute
Sources revealed that the dispute between the families of Malik Adam Khan and Gul Shah had persisted for years over the ownership of a piece of land. The situation escalated when armed members from both sides confronted each other, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire.
Casualties and Injuries
The fierce clash claimed the lives of three members of Gul Shah's family, identified as Allah Dad, Mustafa, and Zaheer Khan. Two individuals from the rival family, Naimatullah and Sadu Khan, were also killed during the exchange of fire. Additionally, Mohammad Alam and Ayub sustained bullet injuries and were rushed to the Headquarters Hospital Wana, where they received emergency medical treatment. Hospital officials reported that the injured were in stable condition and out of immediate danger.

The incident triggered fear and panic among local residents, with tension remaining high in the area following the deadly confrontation. Tribal elders and local notables have reportedly stepped in to mediate between the two sides in an effort to prevent further violence and restore calm.
