MARDAN: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mardan, Rab Nawaz Khan, on Tuesday directed police officials to intensify operations against criminals and strengthen traffic management measures across the district. The directives were issued during a high-level meeting held at the regional police office to review the law-and-order situation, crime trends, and traffic issues in Mardan.
The meeting was attended by District Police Officer Masood Bangash, senior investigation and traffic officials, divisional SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs from across the district. During the briefing, police officials informed the meeting about ongoing operations against proclaimed offenders, drug traffickers, and criminal gangs involved in robbery, dacoity, theft, and other property-related crimes. Progress regarding the recovery of stolen property also came under discussion.
Performance Review and Directives
RPO Rab Nawaz Khan appreciated officers who had shown strong performance and directed officials with weaker results to improve within the stipulated timeframe. Addressing the participants, he stressed the need for intelligence-based operations, enhanced patrolling, strict monitoring at checkpoints, and close surveillance of suspicious individuals to curb criminal activity.
Community Policing and Traffic Management
The RPO also instructed police personnel to maintain professionalism and courteous behaviour while dealing with the public in order to strengthen trust between citizens and law enforcement agencies. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of effective traffic management to reduce accidents and congestion in the district. Officials were directed to ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws and to improve coordination with other departments for better road safety.
The meeting concluded with a resolve to enhance public safety and maintain peace in Mardan through proactive policing and community engagement.
