Head Constable Martyred in Bannu Terrorist Attack on Police Vehicle
A head constable was martyred and three other police personnel sustained injuries when militants targeted a police vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Bannu district on Saturday. The attack occurred in the Sheikhan Mama Khel area, within the jurisdiction of the Haved Police Station, during a routine police patrol.
Fierce Exchange of Fire Results in Casualties on Both Sides
According to official police reports, militants opened sudden and unprovoked fire on the police vehicle. The police party responded with effective retaliatory action, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire. Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan confirmed that two terrorists were killed in the confrontation, while approximately four others were injured during the firefight.
The martyred officer has been identified as Head Constable Dilnawaz Khan, who made the ultimate sacrifice while performing his duty. The three injured police personnel received immediate medical attention following the assault.
Attackers Set Police Vehicle Ablaze After Assault
In a disturbing escalation of violence, the attackers set the police vehicle on fire after the initial assault. This act of arson further complicated the situation and demonstrated the militants' intent to cause maximum destruction.
Police authorities have taken two motorcycles belonging to the attackers into custody as evidence. These vehicles are believed to have been used by the terrorists during the attack and subsequent escape attempt.
