BANNU: Unidentified assailants abducted a schoolgoing student within the jurisdiction of Bakkakhel Police Station here on Tuesday, according to police sources. Sohail Khan, son of Malik Umran, also known as Bukhmal, was returning from school when two armed men on motorcycles intercepted him on Malak Zalkala Road and forcibly took him away. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the kidnapping.
Police Investigation Underway
Police have registered a case and launched a search operation to locate the victim. Authorities are investigating the incident and pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators.
Previous Kidnapping of Father
Notably, Malik Umran, the father of the abducted student, was himself kidnapped a few months ago. He was later released unharmed following tribal unity, resistance, and collective efforts by the community, after which he returned safely to his home. The incident has raised concerns about security in the area.
