Al-Nassr has achieved a significant milestone by entering the world's top 10 bestselling football clubs in jersey sales. According to a study by Euromericas Sport Marketing, the Saudi club sold more than 1.2 million jerseys worldwide during the current season, which also saw them secure the Roshn Saudi League title.
Cristiano Ronaldo's Impact
The study attributes Al-Nassr's rise to the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo. With millions of followers on social media, Ronaldo helped transform Al-Nassr's jersey into a global marketing icon. This appeal extended beyond the Middle East, attracting fans and collectors across the Americas, Asia, and Australia.
Global Rankings
Data from Euromericas Sport Marketing shows Real Madrid leading the global rankings with sales exceeding 3.13 million jerseys, driven by stars like Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. FC Barcelona ranks second with 2.94 million, followed by Paris Saint-Germain with 2.54 million after winning the UEFA Champions League. Bayern Munich is fourth with 2.3 million, Inter Miami fifth with 2.1 million, Boca Juniors sixth with 1.9 million, Manchester United seventh with 1.85 million, CR Flamengo eighth with 1.6 million, Chelsea ninth with 1.4 million, and Al-Nassr tenth.
Non-European Success
Al-Nassr ranks fourth among non-European clubs and is the only Arab and Asian club on the list, surpassing established European giants. The report highlights a similar marketing phenomenon with Inter Miami, which rose to fifth place due to Lionel Messi's presence.
Notably, traditional Italian clubs are absent from the top 10, indicating a widening commercial gap between the Italian league and emerging leagues like the Saudi league, which is increasingly competing for global sports market share.
