Hakan Calhanoglu: Turkiye will dominate Australia

Turkiye captain Hakan Calhanoglu has made bold comments ahead of his team's World Cup match against Australia, stating that his side will dominate the game due to their superior quality and talent.

Calhanoglu's confident prediction

Speaking to reporters on Friday, the 32-year-old Inter Milan midfielder said: "I think we will dominate the game because we have more qualities and a more talented team. So we will see what happens." Turkiye are making their first World Cup appearance since 2002, while Australia are competing in their sixth consecutive tournament.

Australia's response

Australia midfielder Aiden O'Neill responded to Calhanoglu's comments, saying: "He's allowed to have his own opinion. We've got quality players on our team, too, so we're ready." Despite his confidence, Calhanoglu also praised the Socceroos, as did Turkish manager Vincenzo Montella.
