The Ravi Zone Cricket Association (CA) conducted its inaugural General Body meeting on [date], marking the start of a new administrative era focused on transparent governance, merit-based administration, and adherence to constitutional practices. The meeting, chaired by President M Ejaz Butt at the LCCA Headquarters, saw the participation of zone members who expressed confidence in the newly elected leadership.
Election of New Leadership
Members congratulated President Muhammad Ejaz Butt, Secretary Muhammad Naseer Shehzad, and Treasurer Malik Zahid Mahmood, expressing optimism that the new administration would strengthen cricket development within the zone. The general body unanimously appointed Mian Meraj Elahi as Senior Vice President, M Javed Sabri as Vice President, and Nadeem Farooqi as Joint Secretary. Additionally, Zafar Hayee Butt and Muhammad Waqar Ahmad Malik were elected unopposed to the Executive Committee.
President’s Pledge and Future Plans
Addressing the meeting, President Butt pledged to uphold merit, promote talented cricketers, and ensure that deserving players receive fair opportunities. He also announced plans to expand cricket activities and organize more tournaments in the coming months. According to Butt, the association aims to provide a platform for emerging talent and enhance the overall standard of cricket in the region.
Commitment to Constitutional Governance
Members unanimously agreed that all administrative and cricket affairs would be conducted in accordance with the constitutions and regulations of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Regional Cricket Association, and District/Zonal Cricket Association. This commitment ensures transparency, discipline, and effective governance at all levels. The meeting concluded with a resolve to work collectively for the betterment of cricket in the Ravi Zone.
