A coach of the 28-Down Shalimar Express derailed near Khanewal Railway Station on Sunday, causing a delay of approximately one hour, while all passengers remained safe, according to Pakistan Railways.

Railway officials confirmed that one coach of the train, which was en route from Lahore to Karachi, came off the tracks near Khanewal Railway Station. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
Relief and Restoration Efforts
Following the derailment, Pakistan Railways dispatched a relief train from Multan to assist in restoring normal operations. Officials said efforts were underway to remove the derailed coach and clear the track to resume rail traffic without further disruption.
Investigation Launched
A spokesperson for the Multan Division of Pakistan Railways stated that an investigation had been launched to determine the cause of the derailment, while technical teams were carrying out repair work on the affected section of the railway track. Railway authorities said further details would be shared after the completion of the preliminary inquiry.
