An important meeting of the Sindh Basketball Association (SBBA) was held at a local hotel under the chairmanship of President Ghulam Abbas Jamal Chaudhry Advocate. Representatives from Karachi attended the meeting in person, while officials from other districts of Sindh participated via video link. The meeting deliberated on upcoming basketball events and strategies to promote the game across the province and the country.
Gratitude for Eid Arrangements
The Sindh Basketball Association expressed gratitude to the government of Sindh for ensuring peaceful Eid-ul-Adha celebrations across the province. The association praised the exceptional arrangements made under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Sindh, and also acknowledged the players for their practice activities during the Eid vacations.
Recognition of Commissioner Karachi
Special tribute was paid to Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi for his outstanding administrative leadership, which helped ensure smooth and peaceful Eid celebrations throughout the city. The association noted that his drastic steps enabled athletes to continue their smooth practice during the Eid holidays.
The SBBA and the Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) noted that municipal and administrative institutions worked collectively to provide citizens with a safe, clean, and well-organized festive environment. The organizations particularly acknowledged the contributions of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), Police, Rangers, and other security agencies, whose coordinated efforts played a vital role in maintaining order and cleanliness during the Eid holidays.
Planned Reception
As a gesture of appreciation, the KBBA announced that a grand reception will be organized later this month at the Arambagh International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court to honor the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Police, Rangers, and other security agencies. For this purpose, an organizing committee has been formed under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Arambagh Hazim Bhangwar and Ghulam Muhammad Khan.
According to the statement, Commissioner Karachi had chaired a series of meetings throughout May, directing civic and administrative departments to ensure maximum public convenience during Eid. The SBBA and KBBA reiterated their commitment to promoting basketball and fostering a supportive environment for athletes in Sindh.
