Pakistan's sports goods industry has recorded a significant growth of 14.89% in exports during the first ten months of the current fiscal year 2025-26, reaching $357.91 million compared to $311.52 million in the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Monthly Performance
In October 2025 alone, sports goods exports stood at $35.23 million, reflecting a 12.45% increase from $31.33 million in October 2024. However, on a month-on-month basis, exports declined by 9.80% from $39.06 million in September 2025.
Key Export Categories
The primary drivers of this growth include footballs, which account for a major share of exports, along with other sports equipment such as gloves, protective gear, and sports bags. The industry continues to benefit from Pakistan's reputation as a leading manufacturer of high-quality sports goods, particularly in Sialkot.
Government Initiatives
The government has introduced several measures to boost exports, including duty drawbacks, tax incentives, and the establishment of special economic zones. The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also played a pivotal role in facilitating trade fairs and buyer-seller meetings.
Challenges and Outlook
Despite the positive trend, the industry faces challenges such as rising raw material costs and energy shortages. However, with increasing global demand for sports goods, particularly from Europe and the United States, the outlook remains optimistic. Exporters are optimistic about achieving the annual target of $430 million.
