FAISALABAD: Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen on Sunday visited the state-of-the-art Sports Complex located in FDA City and pledged to expand healthy sports and entertainment facilities across Faisalabad. The visit was part of efforts to promote recreational activities in the region.
Inspection of Sports Facilities
The commissioner was accompanied by Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, Director Development Asif Chauhan, Chief Engineer FDA Mehr Ayub, Director Estate Management Sohail Maqsood, and Sports Complex Manager Rizwana Kamal, among others. During the tour, she inspected various indoor and outdoor facilities, including the gymnasium, badminton court, swimming pools, table tennis, lawn tennis, basketball, squash, and paddle tennis courts. She expressed appreciation for the international-standard facilities, excellent management, and pleasant environment, terming the FDA City Sports Complex an exemplary project for the city.
Commitment to Healthy Activities
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Jabeen emphasized that such projects are essential for encouraging citizens to engage in healthy and positive activities. She stated that further development initiatives would be undertaken in accordance with the proposed master planning to meet the requirements of a modern community club in this part of the city. She noted the growing interest of members in sports and recreational activities as a positive sign and directed FDA authorities to continue focusing on the improvement and expansion of sports and entertainment facilities for the public.
Briefing by FDA Officials
FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry briefed the commissioner, highlighting that the completion of the state-of-the-art Sports Complex was a matter of pride for the authority. He revealed that the project was completed after securing funds from the Punjab government with the cooperation and special interest of former Divisional Commissioner Madam Silwat Saeed. He added that the Sports Complex has received an overwhelming public response, leading to a steady increase in membership. Comprehensive master planning has also been prepared for expansion and development, under which several additional sports and entertainment projects have been proposed.
Inspection of Model College Sub-Campus
Later, the divisional commissioner inspected the under-construction building of the sub-campus of Divisional Model College (DMC) in FDA City. She directed officers to accelerate the pace of construction work, ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe, and maintain high construction standards. The FDA Chief Engineer briefed the commissioner on the progress of the construction work, while Principal Divisional Model College Mirza Yasin and others were also present.
