The Rawalpindi Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RISJA) has unanimously elected its office bearers for the 2026–27 term, with all candidates returned unopposed in a clear demonstration of unity, confidence and consensus among the association’s 60 registered members.

Election Process and Oversight

The election process was supervised by the Election Committee led by Chairman Shahryar Khan, alongside members Rana Farhan Aslam, Shakir Abbasi and Asim Jilani, who officially announced the uncontested results. This smooth process highlighted the collective agreement within the association.

Key Positions and Office Bearers

Abubakar Bin Tallat secured another term as President, while Zulfiqar Baig was elected Senior Vice President. Zahid Awan and Asgher Ali Mubarik were chosen as Vice Presidents. Ambreen Ali will serve as General Secretary, with Zeeshan Qayyum as Senior Joint Secretary. Awais Latif and Aqeel Anjum were elected Joint Secretaries, while Nasir Abbas Naqvi assumed the role of Finance Secretary.
