Claude AI Now Connects to Personal Apps Like Spotify, Uber, and TurboTax
Claude AI Connects to Personal Apps: Spotify, Uber, TurboTax

Anthropic has expanded its AI assistant Claude's capabilities by introducing new connectors for a wide range of personal applications. Users can now link services such as Audible, Spotify, Uber, AllTrails, TripAdvisor, Instacart, and TurboTax directly to Claude, enabling more seamless interactions across daily tasks.

Expanding Beyond Work-Related Apps

Previously, Claude supported connections primarily for productivity and enterprise tools, including Microsoft apps. This latest update shifts focus to personal apps, allowing users to integrate entertainment, travel, shopping, and financial services. Some of these apps, like Spotify, already offer similar integrations with OpenAI's ChatGPT, but Anthropic's move broadens the ecosystem for Claude users.

How the Connectors Work

Once a user connects an app, Claude proactively suggests relevant apps during conversations. For example, if a user asks for hiking recommendations, Claude might propose using AllTrails to find trails. The AI will display results from multiple apps when they are relevant, ranking them based on usefulness. Before taking actions such as making a purchase or reservation through a connected app, Claude will ask for user verification.

Privacy and Transparency

Anthropic has emphasized privacy in its announcement. The company states that data from connected apps is not used to train its models, and the app does not have access to other conversations with Claude. Users can disconnect any app at any time. Additionally, Anthropic clarified that there are no paid placements or sponsored answers in conversations with Claude, ensuring unbiased recommendations.

Availability and Access

The new connectors are available immediately on all Claude plans. Users can browse and add apps by selecting the "connectors" option in the "customize" tab on the Claude sidebar. This feature aims to enhance Claude's utility for personal errands, leisure activities, and everyday decision-making.
