According to multiple local reports, a planned Streamer University audition event hosted by popular content creator Kai Cenat in Atlanta was postponed after crowd management issues led to police intervention and several arrests. The event, scheduled to take place near Hank Aaron Drive on Tuesday, attracted hundreds of aspiring content creators hoping to secure a place in Cenat's Streamer University initiative. However, online rumours suggesting that a shooting had occurred at the gathering were unfounded, with reports confirming that no shooting took place.
Streamer University was launched by Cenat to help emerging creators develop their skills, collaborate with others and grow their audiences. The programme has generated significant interest online, leading to in-person auditions being organised in cities including New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Ahead of the Atlanta event, Cenat shared attendance guidelines, including age restrictions, a clear bag policy and warnings that disruptive behaviour could result in the event being shut down.
Police Intervention and Arrests
However, the Atlanta Police Department announced on Monday that the audition would not take place at 450 Hank Aaron Drive. Cenat later cited logistical challenges and indicated that the original plans were unlikely to proceed. Despite the cancellation, large numbers of attendees continued to gather in the area. Local outlet 11Alive reported that police responded after sections of the crowd became disruptive. Authorities confirmed that enforcement action was related to crowd-control issues rather than any violent incident. According to police, individuals were cited or arrested after assembling on private property and refusing requests to disperse.
Rescheduled Auditions
Later on Tuesday, Cenat announced that the auditions had been rescheduled for Wednesday and moved to a different venue. Many attendees reportedly travelled long distances, including from Canada and overseas, to participate. Despite the disruption, the auditions have only been postponed, allowing those already in Atlanta another opportunity to attend the event.
In a social media post, Cenat expressed disappointment about the postponement but emphasised the importance of safety. He urged fans to remain patient and confirmed that the new venue would be communicated soon. The Streamer University initiative continues to attract widespread interest, with many creators viewing it as a valuable platform for career development in the streaming industry.
