Punjab Safe Cities Authority Launches QR Panic Button System

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has officially launched the 'CM Punjab QR Panic Button System' to enhance the safety, reliability, and digital connectivity of public transport across the province. According to an official statement, this innovative system is designed to ensure immediate assistance and effective police response for citizens during their travels.

Key Features of the QR Panic Button System

The QR Panic Buttons will be installed in various public transport vehicles, including buses, wagons, rickshaws, taxis, and other modes of transport throughout Punjab. The system has been developed entirely by the PSCA. Vehicle owners and drivers can obtain the button free of charge through the Public Safety App or by visiting the authority's official website.

Integrated Safety Features

According to a spokesperson for the PSCA, the QR Panic Button System integrates a total of 12 safety features. These include emergency calling, video calling, live chat, location sharing, vehicle verification, driver and owner information, family sharing, and instant police response. By simply scanning the QR code, passengers can instantly verify the vehicle and driver details. Additionally, they can connect directly with the Emergency 15 helpline through voice call, video call, or live chat, ensuring rapid assistance in case of any incident.
