Authorities Dismantle Drug Trafficking Ring in Riyadh
On Wednesday, a Ministry of Interior source confirmed the arrest of 22 individuals linked to a criminal network specializing in drug smuggling and trafficking in the Riyadh region. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat illicit drug activities in the kingdom.
Nationalities and Profiles of Those Arrested
Among the detainees are 19 Saudi citizens, including one employee of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing. The remaining three comprise an Ethiopian national who violated border security regulations, a female Moroccan national, and a Yemeni national. The diverse nationalities highlight the cross-border nature of the network.
Legal Proceedings Underway
Legal measures have been initiated against all arrested individuals, who have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and potential charges. The Ministry of Interior emphasized that such operations are crucial to maintaining security and preventing drug-related crimes in the region.
