232,000+ Pakistanis Register for Hajj 2027 in 14 Days

More than 232,000 Pakistani citizens have completed their online registration to perform Hajj in 2027 during the first 14 days of the campaign, state media reported this week, as Islamabad prepares in advance for the annual Islamic pilgrimage.

Registration Details and Schemes

Pakistan’s government launched mandatory registration for Hajj 2027 in June, a month after Hajj 2026 concluded in Saudi Arabia. Pakistan was allocated a quota of 179,210 pilgrims, one of the largest in the world, with pilgrims traveling under both government and private schemes.

The registration process is carried out through the National Information Technology Board’s (NITB) mobile application, Pak Hajj app, and the online Hajj Portal, allowing applicants to complete the entire process from home without visiting banks or government offices.

State broadcaster Radio Pakistan reported: “More than 232,000 intending pilgrims have completed their online registration for next year’s Hajj during the first 14 days of the registration campaign.” Of these, 175,000 applicants opted for the government scheme, while approximately 58,000 registered under the private Hajj scheme. Among the total registered applicants, 136,000 are men and nearly 96,000 are women.

Passport Validity and Future Announcements

Pakistani authorities have warned aspiring pilgrims that it is mandatory for their passports to be valid until November 26, 2027, to perform the pilgrimage next year. The religious affairs ministry has said that details regarding Hajj 2027 package costs, including terms and conditions, will be announced later under the forthcoming Hajj policy.

Quota Increase Request

Earlier this year, Pakistan’s religious affairs ministry sought an increase in the quota to around 230,000 pilgrims for Hajj 2027, stating it would better reflect Pakistan’s population. Saudi Arabia has yet to announce next year’s Hajj quotas.
