A passenger coach traveling from Quetta to Peshawar plunged into a deep ravine in the mountainous Dana Sar region between Zhob and Dera Ismail Khan on Friday, resulting in at least 24 fatalities and multiple injuries, according to police officials.

The accident occurred in the Dana Sar area, known for its challenging terrain. Deputy Commissioner Sherani Wali Kakar confirmed that rescue teams were deployed immediately and continued operations despite difficult conditions. "The rescue operation is underway, and the injured are being provided immediate medical assistance before being shifted to nearby hospitals," Kakar said. He added that the district administration was closely monitoring the situation and that the final death toll would be confirmed once the rescue operation was completed.
