BAHAWALNAGAR - Action has been recommended against officials of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) force on charges of corruption and irregularities. According to details, the Assistant Commissioner of Chishtian, in a letter addressed to the ADCG as SDO Enforcement, has recommended formal departmental action, including suspension, against three PERA force officials for serious irregularities and corruption.

Enforcement Officer Muhammad Jamshed, Sergeant Muhammad Noman, and Sergeant Muhammad Zubair allegedly fined an oil agency Rs 20,000 but only registered Rs 5,000 on the official portal, pocketing the remaining Rs 15,000. Additionally, during a recent crackdown on non-custom paid cigarettes, the same officials seized custom paid cigarettes for personal gain.

The letter states that these allegations of corruption and irregularities have been substantiated through video and written evidence.
