Al-Ghazi Tractors Limited (AGTL) has underscored the importance of sustained public-private collaboration to create an enabling policy environment for the growth of Pakistan's agricultural machinery sector and the modernization of agriculture. During separate meetings with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan and Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Industries and Production Saif Anjum, AGTL's leadership exchanged views on the current landscape of the agricultural machinery industry and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the government and the private sector.
Delegation Led by CEO Yasin Seker
The AGTL delegation was led by Chief Executive Officer Yasin Seker and included Chief Financial Officer Javed Iqbal, Company Secretary Mansoor Khan, and Senior Manager Corporate Communications, PR and Government Relations Foha Raza. The discussions centered on the future of Pakistan's agriculture sector, the role of government policy in promoting agricultural mechanization, and the need for regular engagement between policymakers and industry stakeholders to address challenges facing the sector.
Emphasis on Investment and Innovation
Both sides also emphasized the importance of creating a conducive environment that encourages investment, innovation, and the adoption of modern farming practices. Speaking after the meetings, Yasin Seker said, “We deeply value the opportunity to engage with government on the issues that shape our industry. A close and constructive partnership between the public and private sectors is what will move Pakistan’s agriculture forward. Food security depends on a more productive agriculture industry, and that means more tractors in our fields, higher yields, and stronger harvests, none of which is possible without clear policy and guidance from government to steer the way. Al-Ghazi Tractors is committed to playing its full part in that effort, standing with the country and its farming community to the fullest.”
Call for Regular Dialogue
AGTL reiterated that regular dialogue between the government and industry is essential for developing practical policies that promote mechanization, strengthen the agricultural machinery sector, and support farmers in adopting modern technologies to improve agricultural productivity.
