The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and the National Forensics Agency (NFA) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the ANF Headquarters in Rawalpindi to strengthen institutional collaboration and enhance forensic support in counter-narcotics operations.

The NFA delegation, headed by its Director General and accompanied by senior officials, was received by the Director General ANF along with senior officers of the force. The MoU was signed by the Director, Forensics (Chemical/Biological), on behalf of the NFA, while the Director, Enforcement, represented ANF.
Under the agreement, both institutions would promote greater coordination, knowledge sharing and institutional cooperation to enhance forensic capabilities in narcotics-related investigations and prosecutions. Both organisations also agreed to provide professional assistance and technical support as needed and reiterated their commitment to collaborate in areas of mutual interest.

The signing ceremony underscored a shared determination to strengthen national efforts against narcotics and associated crimes through effective inter-agency cooperation.
ANF Operations Across Pakistan
In a separate development, the Anti-Narcotics Force on Friday conducted four operations across the country, arresting seven suspects, including three women, and recovering 24.65 kg of narcotics worth more than Rs 2.3 million.
Operations in Sukkur, Nowshera, Faisalabad, and Islamabad
According to the ANF, during an operation near Shikarpur Road in Sukkur district, 15 kg of hashish were recovered from a passenger van and two suspects were arrested. In another operation near Risalpur in Nowshera district, 8.4 kg of hashish were seized from the possession of three women. Similarly, the ANF recovered 1.2 kg of hashish from a motorcyclist near Canal Road in Faisalabad district and apprehended the accused. In Islamabad, 50 grams of cocaine were recovered from the possession of an accused near Chungi No. 26.
Legal Proceedings
Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigations are underway.
