The Asir Municipality has ramped up its preparations for the 2026 summer tourism season, focusing on enhancing infrastructure, public facilities, and its extensive network of 671 parks. The initiative aims to accommodate the expected surge in visitors during peak summer months.
Major Upgrades and Personnel Deployment
Asir Mayor Abdullah Al-Jali announced that a dedicated team of 1,500 personnel is executing comprehensive cleaning and maintenance operations across more than 16 million square meters of urban spaces. These efforts are designed to improve the overall visitor experience and ensure that public areas are in optimal condition for the tourism influx.
Specialized field units have been deployed to manage the anticipated service demand, which is expected to rise by over 40 percent during peak vacation times. The lighting maintenance department comprises 194 workers and 47 pieces of equipment, while the self-maintenance department includes 93 workers. Additionally, the equipment and labor department has 305 field workers ready to address any operational needs.
