Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday declared that establishing durable peace in the province is the government's foremost priority, and operations against terrorist elements will continue unabated to foster regional development. He made these remarks during separate meetings with senior officials, political leaders, and heads of government institutions at the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Quetta.
Law and Order Briefing by Police Chief
Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir Khan, met with the Chief Minister and provided a detailed briefing on the province's law and order situation, ongoing anti-terrorism operations, security arrangements in sensitive districts, and measures taken to protect citizens' lives and property. The Chief Minister reiterated that establishing peace remains the government's top priority and assured that operations against terrorists will persist with full intensity. He also affirmed the government's commitment to enhancing the professional capabilities of the police force and providing all possible resources.
Prison Reforms and Administrative Review
Inspector General Prisons Balochistan, Captain (retd) Asim Qaimkhani, also met the Chief Minister. The meeting reviewed ongoing reforms in the province's prison system, security arrangements, prisoner welfare, correctional programs, and issues related to increasing administrative capacity. The Chief Minister directed that prisons should be transformed into more effective correctional centers by aligning them with modern requirements.
Political Consultation with PML-N Leader
Pakistan Muslim League (N) Balochistan Parliamentary Leader Mir Saleem Khan Khosa also met the Chief Minister. Discussions covered the overall political situation, public issues, ongoing development projects, legislation, and public welfare matters. The CM emphasized that the government believes in consultation and cooperation with all political forces to meet public expectations, promote transparent governance, and ensure sustainable development in Balochistan.
Energy Sector Improvements Discussed
Acting Chief Executive Officer of QESCO Balochistan, Shaukat Jogezai, met with Chief Minister Bugti to discuss power supply issues, load management, improvement of transmission and distribution systems, development projects, and better facilities for consumers. The Chief Minister directed that all available resources be utilized to provide uninterrupted and improved power supply, with effective steps for timely complaint redressal.
Hospital Visit and Commitment to Public Welfare
CM Bugti visited a local hospital to inquire about the health of Muhammad Akbar, prayed for his speedy recovery, and directed doctors to provide the best possible medical facilities. He reiterated that the Balochistan government is taking practical steps to establish law and order, effective governance, public welfare, provision of basic facilities, and increase the capacity of government institutions. He reaffirmed the commitment to accelerating public service, transparent administration, and the development process as top priorities.
