Bella Hadid Supports Clean Water Access in Uganda
Supermodel Bella Hadid has helped fund a new clean water well in Uganda through Amy Bell Charities, supporting a project that will provide safe drinking water to children and families in a rural community. The charity recently unveiled “Bella’s Well” in Uganda, describing it as its 999th water well. Images shared on social media showed local children gathering around the newly installed borehole, with the organization thanking Hadid for helping make the project possible.
Amy Bell Charities’ Mission
Amy Bell Charities works with communities across Uganda to improve access to clean water by constructing sustainable boreholes. Alongside installing wells, the organization provides hygiene education and sanitation initiatives designed to reduce waterborne diseases and improve long-term health outcomes. The charity says access to clean water can transform daily life by reducing the time spent collecting water, enabling more children to attend school.
Hadid’s Humanitarian Work
Hadid has long used her platform to support humanitarian causes and has frequently spoken about her Palestinian heritage. In recent years she has publicly advocated for humanitarian relief efforts, while also supporting charitable initiatives around the world. Her cosmetics brand Orebella earlier this year partnered with an organization that supports sufferers of Lyme disease. Hadid revealed in 2024 that a percentage of the proceeds from Orebella had been donated to the Orebella Alchemy Foundation, a charitable initiative aimed at creating positive change across various communities. The foundation announced in March its partnership with the LymeLight Foundation, a California-based organization that supports children and young people with Lyme disease. Hadid suffers from the disease and has been open about her health on social media, where she occasionally posts updates about her treatment.
Hadid’s Career and Impact
The model, whose father Mohamed Hadid is Palestinian, remains one of the fashion industry’s most recognizable figures. Since signing with IMG Models in 2014, she has fronted campaigns for leading luxury houses, appeared on dozens of international magazine covers, and was previously named Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council.
