The Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) has expanded its cardiac care services by routinely using Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) in its Cardiology Ward. This procedure provides high-resolution cardiac imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Procedure Conducted Under Expert Supervision
The TEE procedure is conducted under the supervision of Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Ghulam Jaffar Shah. Speaking to the media on Thursday, Dr. Shah stated that TEE offers a clearer and more detailed view of the heart’s structure and function, which is critical for diagnosing complex cardiac conditions.
Eliminating Need for Travel
With this facility now available at GIMS Gambat, patients from Sindh no longer need to travel to Karachi or Lahore for advanced cardiac assessment. Dr. Shah praised the hospital administration for its commitment to modern healthcare.
Acknowledgment of Support
“I would like to acknowledge the vision and support of Director GIMS, Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti, and the Government of Sindh for equipping this institute with state-of-the-art technology. Their efforts are transforming GIMS into a center of excellence for cardiac and other specialized treatments,” Dr. Jaffar added.
Commitment to Accessible Healthcare
Hospital officials said GIMS continues to deliver advanced, patient-centered cardiac services and remains dedicated to making specialized healthcare accessible to the people of upper Sindh.
