PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, held a meeting with a delegation led by Chairman Aqua Tech Fisheries, Ahmed Hussain, at the Governor House on Friday. The delegation briefed the Governor on their ongoing activities in the fisheries sector and highlighted key challenges affecting aquaculture development in the province. They also discussed various initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable fish farming and expanding aquaculture investment opportunities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Delegation Seeks Support for Fisheries Sector
During the meeting, the delegation sought the Governor’s support in facilitating engagement with relevant stakeholders to strengthen the fisheries sector. Governor Kundi appreciated the efforts of Aqua Tech Fisheries, stating that the growth of aquaculture is vital for food security, employment generation, and rural economic development in the province. He assured the delegation of his full support and said that he would take up the matter with the relevant authorities to help address their concerns and promote a conducive environment for fisheries farming.
Governor Commits to Addressing Challenges
The Governor emphasized the importance of the private sector in driving economic growth and assured that his office would work closely with the fisheries department and other stakeholders to remove bottlenecks. He noted that aquaculture has immense potential in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to its water resources and called for innovative approaches to boost production.
The delegation thanked the Governor for his accessibility and his continued encouragement of private sector initiatives contributing to the economic development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
