Hyderabad DC Orders Crackdown on Overpricing, Seizes Cigarettes

On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Aabdin Memon, field operations against overpricing, illegal sales, and violations of government regulations continued across the district under the supervision of Assistant Commissioners. The crackdown aims to ensure price stability and protect consumer rights.

Price Checking Operations in Qasimabad

Assistant Commissioner Qasimabad conducted price checking in various markets, inspecting five outlets. During the operation, fines were imposed on two shopkeepers for selling essential commodities above the government-notified rates. The Assistant Commissioner also carried out a raid against the sale of non-duty-paid cigarettes, resulting in the confiscation of 196 packets of illegal cigarettes.

Inspection of LPG Outlet and Flour Mills

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Taluka Hyderabad Rural inspected an LPG outlet to verify compliance with government-notified LPG prices and prescribed safety SOPs. The shop owner was directed to strictly follow the official rates and ensure full compliance with safety regulations. The Assistant Commissioner also visited MANN Atta Chakki and ANAAJ Atta Chakki at Tando Hyder to inspect flour prices, stock availability, and sales. The flour rates were found to be in accordance with the government-notified policy.

Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad reiterated that strict monitoring and enforcement operations would continue across the district to ensure price stability, protect consumers’ rights, and take legal action against all violations of government regulations. The operations are part of ongoing efforts to maintain market discipline and curb illegal activities.
