Hyderabad Mayor Orders Cleanliness, Lights for Yom-e-Ashura

Hyderabad Mayor Kashif Ali Shoro has directed the staff of the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and functioning of street lights on Yom-e-Ashura. Speaking to the media at a mourning procession in Latifabad on Friday, Shoro said the HMC had been coordinating with the organizers of the mourning processions and majalis from the first day of Muharram to provide them a clean environment.

Water and Sewerage Board Instructions

In his capacity as Chairman of the Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Board (HW&SC), Shoro said he had also directed the board’s officials to ensure that problems like water shortage or spilling of sewage on roads did not occur. He emphasized the importance of uninterrupted civic services during the religious observances.

Personal Monitoring by Mayor

Shoro stated that he was personally visiting the mourning processions in all parts of Hyderabad to monitor the civic services. This hands-on approach aims to address any issues promptly and maintain a clean and safe environment for participants.
