Hyderabad SITE Association Flags Drainage Crisis, Robbery FIR Delay

On Sunday, the Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry (HSATI) expressed deep concern over worsening drainage problems in the Hyderabad SITE industrial area. Chairman Zubair Ghangra highlighted that the Darya Khan drainage pumping station near Nara Jail has become dysfunctional, causing wastewater to accumulate on roads within the industrial zone.

Dysfunctional Pumping Station Causes Waterlogging

Ghangra explained that the high water level in the canals of Kotri barrage is also hindering the flow of industrial wastewater into the canals. This dual problem has led to stagnant drainage water on the roads, which he claimed is severely affecting industrial operations. He emphasized the need for an immediate solution to prevent further damage to local industries.

Impact on Industries and Infrastructure

The stagnant water not only disrupts transportation and logistics but also poses health and safety risks to workers and residents. The association warned that if the issue is not resolved promptly, it could lead to production delays and financial losses for businesses operating in the area.

Robbery FIR Registered After Eight-Day Delay

In a separate incident, a robbery FIR was registered with an eight-day delay, raising concerns about law enforcement responsiveness. The delay has frustrated local business owners, who fear that such lapses may embolden criminals and undermine security in the industrial zone.

The HSATI has called on relevant authorities to address both the drainage crisis and the police procedural delays to ensure a safe and conducive environment for trade and industry in Hyderabad.
