Arrival of First Umrah Guest Group in Madinah
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has finalized all preparations to welcome the first group of Umrah performers under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah and Visit. This group, consisting of 250 male and female guests from 16 Asian countries, is scheduled to arrive in Madinah on Wednesday before proceeding to Makkah to perform the Umrah pilgrimage.
King Salman's Generous Hosting
The initiative follows a directive from King Salman to host 1,000 male and female Umrah performers at his personal expense. The guests will be arriving in four separate groups throughout the year, ensuring a steady flow of pilgrims from diverse regions.
Participating Countries
The first group includes participants from Indonesia, Timor-Leste, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mongolia. This broad representation underscores the program's aim to foster unity and spiritual enrichment among Muslims worldwide.
Program in Madinah
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the ministry has curated a comprehensive program for the guests during their stay in Madinah. This includes visits to historical sites and museums that highlight the life of Prophet Muhammad and Islamic civilization. After their stay in Madinah, the guests will travel to Makkah to perform Umrah.
