Commissioner Lahore Division Maryam Khan chaired the 537th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore on Thursday, where several key measures were approved to digitise board operations and improve service delivery for students.
Meeting Highlights and Approvals
The meeting, attended by all members of the Board of Governors, reviewed and ratified previous decisions, examined progress on digitisation initiatives, and discussed new agenda items. Lahore Board Secretary Rizwan Nazir briefed participants on various agenda items and ongoing reforms.
The board approved the complete digitisation of the affiliation process for private educational institutions. Additionally, it gave the green light to digitise the manual registration system for students, aiming to establish a paperless mechanism.
Commissioner's Remarks
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Maryam Khan stated that information technology interventions have been initiated to make board-related services easier, more accessible, authentic, and fully online for students. She emphasised that efforts are underway to enhance transparency and accelerate service delivery through digitisation at the Lahore Board.
The meeting also reviewed the performance and targets of the Finance Committee and Human Resource Committee functioning under the Board of Governors. Commissioner Khan directed authorities to further strengthen digital reforms and constitute a finance committee to prepare a comprehensive report on financial matters included in the agenda.
She highlighted that modernising administrative processes through technology would help improve efficiency, transparency, and public facilitation in educational services.
