Rescue operations have concluded at the site of a landslide in Tanchang County, northwest China's Gansu Province, which resulted in 21 fatalities and seven injuries, local authorities announced on Wednesday. The injured individuals are receiving treatment at local hospitals and are reported to be in stable condition, according to a press conference held by the Longnan municipal government.
Landslide Strikes Renzang Village
The landslide occurred in Renzang Village of Nanhe Township in Longnan City at approximately 6:56 am on Tuesday, trapping 33 people. Five individuals were rescued without injury. Multiple rescue teams, including emergency, fire, and police personnel, were quickly deployed to the scene following the disaster.
Regional Context
This incident follows a recent boat tragedy in the Democratic Republic of Congo that left 20 dead and over 100 missing, as reported by Qazinform. Meanwhile, Bulgarian defence minister emphasized that NATO unity remains Bulgaria's strongest security tool.
