A district court in Lodhran has sentenced a drug trafficker to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs500,000 in a narcotics case. The convict, identified as Bilal Rajput, was found guilty of possessing 10.6 kilograms of hashish, a quantity well above the threshold for commercial trafficking under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act.
Arrest and Recovery
The case was registered on October 6, 2025, at the City Police Station in Kahror Pacca. Police apprehended Rajput during an operation and recovered the hashish from his possession. The arrest was part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking in the region.
Court Proceedings and Sentence
After a thorough trial, the court convicted Rajput under relevant sections of the narcotics law. The sentence includes 20 years of rigorous imprisonment, meaning the convict will be required to perform hard labor during his incarceration. In addition, the court imposed a fine of Rs500,000; failure to pay will result in an additional six months of simple imprisonment.

District Police Officer (DPO) Capt (retd) Ali Bin Tariq commended the efforts of the investigation team. He praised SHO Arshad Baloch, the investigation officer, and the legal team for their professional investigation, meticulous collection of evidence, and effective prosecution, which led to the conviction.

The sentencing comes amid ongoing nationwide anti-narcotics operations. In a separate development, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested nine suspects and seized over 55 kilograms of drugs in coordinated raids across multiple cities. These efforts highlight the government's commitment to combating drug trafficking and reducing the supply of illegal substances.
