The 32nd edition of Textile Asia International Exhibition 2026, featuring over 2,000 international brands and official delegations from more than eight countries, is currently underway in Lahore, Pakistan. The event, which began on July 4 and runs through July 6, is organized by Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan and supported by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), a hybrid civil-military body formed to attract investment in priority sectors.
Exhibition Focus and Participation
The exhibition emphasizes the buying and selling potential of textile and garment machinery, clothing textiles accessories, raw material supplies, textile dyes chemicals, and other industry-related sectors. According to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan, over 425 companies are participating alongside the 2,000 international brands. Official delegations have arrived from China, Türkiye, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Russia.
Pakistan's Textile Sector Significance
Pakistan is the eighth-largest exporter of textile products in Asia. The textile sector comprises 46 percent of the country's total manufacturing sector and provides employment to 40 percent of the labor force. According to data from the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, textiles earned $17.97 billion in exports last year, making it the largest export sector.
Support from SIFC and Government Initiatives
Radio Pakistan reported that the exhibition brings together manufacturers, investors, buyers, and industry leaders from around the world, showcasing the latest developments in textile and garment machinery, digital technologies, and value-added manufacturing. The report stated, "Supported by SIFC, Textile Asia 2026 is creating new opportunities for investment, technology transfer, export growth and industrial development, reinforcing Pakistan’s position as a competitive destination for the global textile industry."
Eco Textile Conference 2.0
A conference titled ‘The Eco Textile Conference 2.0’ is being held alongside the exhibition. It features discussions on green manufacturing, renewable energy, the circular economy, and emerging global industry trends.
Government Policy for Export Growth
Pakistan is actively seeking to increase textile exports as part of its export-driven economic strategy. Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan announced in August 2025 the finalization of a five-year Textiles and Apparel Policy and a National Industrial Policy aimed at making the industry regionally competitive, removing trade barriers, and ensuring long-term export growth.
