Deputy Commissioner (DC) Murree, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, conducted an inspection of Kashmir Point on Sunday to assess cleanliness, basic facilities, and overall arrangements for tourists. According to a press release, the visit focused on evaluating sanitation, traffic management, parking, and administrative measures at the popular tourist spot.
Detailed Inspection of Facilities
During the inspection, the deputy commissioner reviewed cleanliness conditions, the state of cabins, ongoing repair and maintenance work, walkways, public facilities, and parking areas. He also received briefings from relevant officials and interacted with tourists to gather feedback on available facilities.
Directives for Improvement
DC Shirazi directed authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow, improve parking arrangements, and facilitate pedestrians in view of the increasing influx of visitors. He instructed officials to maintain high standards of cleanliness, ensure timely waste disposal, and complete repair of cabins and other installations without delay. He also called for an effective system for continuous monitoring and maintenance of public facilities.
Emphasis on Coordination
The deputy commissioner emphasized coordination among all departments to ensure timely execution of responsibilities and prevent inconvenience to tourists. He stated that Murree is a key tourist destination attracting a large number of visitors daily, and the district administration is committed to providing a clean, safe, and organized environment.
Priority on Public Service
DC Shirazi reiterated that public service and facilitation of tourists remain the top priority. He added that performance of all departments would be continuously monitored to maintain quality standards at tourist sites. He further directed officers to ensure their presence in the field, promptly address issues, and take effective measures to resolve public complaints so that visitors return with a positive impression of Murree.
