PFA Destroys 2,800 Liters Adulterated Milk in Rawalpindi

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has intensified its campaign against the sale of adulterated milk across Rawalpindi district, conducting random checks at the motorway toll plaza on Friday. According to a PFA spokesperson, a vehicle carrying 5,000 liters of milk was thoroughly examined using modern detection devices.

Adulteration Detection and Immediate Action

Approximately 2,800 liters of the milk were found to be adulterated with water, rendering it unfit for human consumption. The examining team declared the milk unsafe and destroyed it on the spot to prevent its entry into the market.

Legal Penalties Imposed

The authorities imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the vehicle owner, along with other legal actions under the Food Safety Act. The spokesperson reiterated that non-discriminatory actions against adulteration would continue to ensure a safe and purified milk supply in the market.
