PSCA Crackdown on Fake Plates in Lahore with AI

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has intensified its crackdown on vehicles using fake, cloned, or tampered number plates in Lahore, leveraging AI-based surveillance and Safe City monitoring systems. According to a PSCA spokesperson, more than 170 suspicious and cloned vehicles were identified and traced in the past month through the authority's advanced surveillance network.

AI-Powered Detection System

The system, powered by artificial intelligence and high-tech cameras, automatically detects suspicious or unregistered number plates within Safe City coverage areas and generates instant alerts. The spokesperson said that once a suspicious vehicle is detected, Virtual Patrolling Officers immediately share the information with nearby police units to ensure swift action.

Continuous Monitoring for Crime Prevention

PSCA added that it is continuously monitoring blacklisted, crime-linked, and suspicious vehicles through its digital surveillance system, which assists law enforcement agencies in crime prevention and tracking the movement of suspects more effectively. The authority warned that altering, tampering with, or using fake number plates is a serious legal offence that can lead to FIR registration and legal action.
