Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that the provincial government is setting new benchmarks in the road sector through fast, transparent, and high-quality development work. She was chairing a meeting in Lahore to review the performance of the Communications and Works Department.

Project Completion in Record Time

Officials briefed the meeting on the progress of ongoing road infrastructure projects across the province. They informed that 1,129 roads covering a total length of 1,795 kilometers have been completed within just 75 days at a cost of Rs30 billion. The accelerated pace was achieved by field staff working in three shifts, ensuring timely completion without compromising quality.

Cost Savings and Efficiency

The department reported savings of Rs11 billion through efficient planning and execution, describing the initiative as a major milestone in improving Punjab's road infrastructure. Maryam Nawaz praised the department's performance and reiterated her government's commitment to delivering modern infrastructure, ensuring transparency, and providing better road connectivity for the public.
