Saudi Sports for All Federation, KAU Sign Pact for Physical Activity

The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with King Abdulaziz University (KAU) to promote physical activity among students and the local community. The agreement was signed by SFA President Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal and KAU President Tareef bin Yousuf Alaama, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Monday.

The signing ceremony was attended by SFA Managing Director Shaima Saleh Al-Husseini, along with representatives from both the university and the federation.

Prince Khaled: Universities Shape Youth Habits

Prince Khaled emphasized the critical role of universities in shaping the habits and behaviors of young people. "At the Saudi Sports for All Federation, we believe that enabling young people to be physically active in the environments they engage with every day is a direct investment in a healthier and more prosperous future," he said. "Through our partnership with KAU, we aim to activate campus spaces and make physical activity a sustainable part of student life, supporting quality of life and contributing to the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030."

Al-Husseini: Accessible Community Sports Programs

Shaima Saleh Al-Husseini highlighted the federation's commitment to designing accessible community sports programs that meet the needs of different segments of society, particularly young people and students. "This partnership provides an important opportunity to bring community sports into the heart of university life through practical programs and supportive environments that encourage students to participate and stay engaged," she stated. "Our goal is to make active living part of the university experience, helping students strengthen both their physical and mental well-being while fostering a more active and engaged campus community."

MoU Aims: Innovative Approach and Campus Activation

The agreement aims to promote community sports through an innovative approach inspired by Saudi culture, while supporting the delivery of a range of the federation's programs and initiatives in collaboration with the university. The partnership will leverage the university’s facilities and resources to create more opportunities for students to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives.
