Trader Alleges 8-Day Delay in Robbery FIR Despite Helpline 15 Report

Robbery Reported via Helpline 15, FIR Delayed by Eight Days

A trader in Bahawalnagar has alleged that local police registered a robbery case eight days after he reported the incident through the Police Helpline 15. According to the FIR, Abdul Salam, a resident of Hasilpur, was returning home from Chak No. 10 Ford Wah on the night of June 19 when three armed motorcyclists intercepted him near 14 Ford Wah. The suspects allegedly held him at gunpoint and snatched Rs70,000 in cash, three ATM cards, his CNIC, and an Infinix mobile phone before fleeing.

Victim's Immediate Actions and Police Response

The victim stated that he immediately informed the Police Helpline 15 and later submitted details of the stolen mobile phone to Bakhshan Khan Police Station. Despite these efforts, FIR No. 188/26 under Section 392 PPC was registered approximately eight days after the incident. Abdul Salam expressed frustration over the delay, noting that the suspects remain at large.

Appeal to DPO Bahawalnagar

Abdul Salam has appealed to the District Police Officer (DPO) Bahawalnagar to ensure the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of his stolen cash and belongings. He emphasized that the delay in registration may have hindered the investigation. The case highlights concerns about the responsiveness of police procedures when using the Helpline 15 system.
