KPRA Records 20% Rise in Sales Tax Collection, Surpasses Target
KPRA Sales Tax Collection Up 20%, Exceeds Target

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) achieved a 20 per cent increase in Sales Tax on Services (STS) collection during the financial year 2025–26, exceeding its annual target, according to official figures released on Thursday. The authority collected Rs48.71 billion in Sales Tax on Services, up from Rs40.60 billion in the previous financial year—an increase of Rs8.11 billion. The collection also surpassed the assigned annual target of Rs45.5 billion, the KPRA said.

Overall Revenue and Infrastructure Development Cess

Overall revenue, including Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC), reached Rs53.7 billion, compared with Rs51.8 billion in the preceding financial year. The authority collected Rs5 billion under IDC, attributing lower receipts to the closure of Pakistan-Afghanistan border crossings during the year.

KPRA Director General Comments

In a statement, KPRA Director General Irum Naz congratulated the authority’s officers and staff on achieving the annual collection targets, saying the results reflected improved tax administration, stronger enforcement measures and enhanced taxpayer facilitation. She also thanked taxpayers for their continued cooperation and said the authority would continue expanding the tax base, strengthening compliance and improving digital services to support sustainable growth in provincial revenues.
