A man was shot dead in Rawalpindi after allegedly resisting a robbery in the jurisdiction of RA Bazaar Police Station, according to police officials.
Incident Details
Police stated that complainant Muhammad Ahmad reported that he and his father, Nasir Ahmad, were outside Azhar General Store when two armed men arrived on a motorcycle and demanded cash and valuables. The shopkeeper handed over Rs5,000 from the cash register.
The suspects then turned to Nisar Ahmad and demanded his cash and belongings at gunpoint. Muhammad Ahmad told police that his father said he had nothing to hand over. When one of the suspects moved forward, Nisar Ahmad resisted, prompting them to open fire.
Victim Succumbs to Injuries
Nisar Ahmad sustained critical injuries and was shifted to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds. Police have initiated proceedings to add the murder charge to the robbery case.
