PSX KSE-100 Index Surges 2,082 Points on Monday

The KSE-100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rose by 2,082.49 points, or 1.12%, to close at 187,454.69 points on Monday, compared to 185,372.21 points at the previous close.

Strong Trading Activity

The ready market recorded a trading volume of 888.405 million shares, up from 815.651 million shares in the previous session. The traded value increased to Rs49.981 billion from Rs42.634 billion. Market capitalization grew to Rs20.986 trillion from Rs20.763 trillion a day earlier.

Market Breadth and Top Performers

Of 495 active companies, 296 advanced, 182 declined, and 17 remained unchanged. TPL Properties led the volume chart with 66.771 million shares, followed by Lotte Chemical (42.069 million) and TPL REIT Fund I (36.545 million). Top gainers included The Premier Sugar Mills (up Rs71.99 to Rs791.92) and Sitara Chemical Industries (up Rs41.14 to Rs852.18). Losers included PIA Holding Company Limited B (down Rs242.78 to Rs18,360.36) and Unilever Pakistan Foods (down Rs219.57 to Rs25,443.93).
