Two Police Officials Suspended for Negligence in Khanewal

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid of Khanewal has suspended two police officials for dereliction of duty, negligence, and overstepping their authority. The suspended officers are Station House Officer (SHO) Saddar Mian Channu Inspector Adnan Khurshid and Sub-Inspector Waqar Younus, both stationed at the same police station. They have been attached to the police lines pending further action.

Departmental Inquiry Ordered

A departmental inquiry has been initiated against both officers on charges of negligence, dereliction of duty, and misuse of authority. DPO Muhammad Abid stated, “Negligence in departmental duties and unlawful use of authority will not be tolerated under any circumstances.” He directed all police officers to perform their duties honestly and responsibly within their defined jurisdiction.

Robbery FIR Registered After Eight-Day Delay

The suspension comes in the wake of a robbery case where the First Information Report (FIR) was registered after an eight-day delay. The delay prompted an investigation, leading to the discovery of negligence and overstepping of authority by the two officials. The departmental inquiry will further probe the circumstances surrounding the delayed registration and the actions of the officers involved.
