KARACHI: Two young motorcyclists were killed on Sunday when a speeding truck struck their bike near Maripur Hawksbay, police said. SHO Maripur Muhammad Aslam stated that the accident occurred when a truck collided with the motorcycle. Both riders were thrown off and died at the scene.
Immediate Response and Investigation
Rescue teams and police reached the site after being alerted and shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital Karachi in an Edhi ambulance for medico-legal formalities. Police officials initially noted that the motorcyclists were riding at high speed, but preliminary investigations suggested negligence by the truck driver caused the crash.
Arrest and Seizure
Acting swiftly, police arrested the driver, identified as Imran son of Allah Jodiyo, from the scene. The truck was seized and taken to Maripur police station for further inspection.
Identification of Victims
The deceased were identified as Cameron son of Salamat and Faisal son of Ilyas. Relatives arrived at the hospital after being informed and completed identification procedures.
Police registered a case against the driver and have initiated a further investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
