JHANG - A tragic road accident claimed the life of an elderly man on Jhang Road near Adda Qaim Bharwana. The victim, identified as 65-year-old Mohammad Salim, was struck from behind by a speeding truck while returning home.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, the impact of the collision was so severe that Mohammad Salim died instantly at the scene. The driver of the truck fled the spot immediately after the accident, leaving the victim's body lying on the road.
Upon receiving information, a team from Shorkot Police Station arrived at the location. The police officials secured the area and shifted the body to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for legal formalities, including a post-mortem examination.
Local residents expressed grief over the incident and demanded strict action against the absconding driver. They also called for better traffic management and speed control measures on the road to prevent such accidents in the future.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the truck driver. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the vehicle involved in the fatal accident.
